How does it work?
Masters Study
-
- You will apply for a Student Visa to study your Masters degree. This will entitle you to work up to 20 hours per week and fulltime in summer holidays.Choosing the right course and institution is critical. The institutions we prefer take a proactive approach to introducing their students to New Zealand employers. This helps you build your business networks in New Zealand and is important for finding skilled employment later on.
- At the same time your partner can apply for a Partnership-Based Work Visa which will entitle them to work full-time in any occupation for any employer.
- School-age children can apply for dependent child Student Visas that will allow them to study at any Government Primary or Secondary School as domestic students. This means that you will not need to pay international school fees for them.
Infant children can apply for dependent child Visitor Visas.
Graduation
-
- When you graduate, you will apply for a 3-year Post Study Work Visa. This visa will entitle you to work full-time for any employer in any occupation.
- Your partner and children will also apply to renew their visas for a further 3 years.
- You will look for well-paid skilled employment in a mid or high skilled occupation, possibly with one of the employers you met while you were studying your Masters degree.
Your open Post Study Work Visa will be attractive to New Zealand employers as it gives them the immediate right to employ you without having to go through bureaucratic processes with Immigration New Zealand.
